Crop: Sugarcane
Areas of the experimental fields: One hectare with Solidwater®, and one hectare with conventional plantation adopted as a control group.
Experiment location: Pinar del Rio, Cuba
Experimental moment: April 9, 2018
Utilization: Experiment operating process: shaping and cleaning
trenches, apply fertilizers, apply pesticides, place sugar cane seeds, apply the product (in gel form), cover the trenches with soil, and compact the soil.
Experimental relationship: 0.6 kg of Solidwater: 120 kg of water
(1:200)
Topography and landform:About two thirds of the
Sugarcane plantation areas in Cuba are distributed in areas that are difficult to access and are distributed in arid hillside fields in mountainous regions, which are characterized by having dry and rainy seasons, and frequent droughts in spring and autumn.
Solidwater® dosage: 75 kg/ha
Observed benefits of Solidwater®
1) improve the water content in the soil, promote the
germination of sugarcane seeds, and improve the emergence rate;
2) Save irrigation costs. Application of Solidwater® can reduce irrigation water consumption by up to 50%, reduce irrigation frequency and save labor costs;

3) Increase the weight of dry matter in sugarcane plants above ground, and improve the plants' resistance to drought;
4) Significantly improve chlorophyll content, free water content and nitrate reductase activity (NRA) in sugarcane plants.
5) Significantly reduce plasma membrane permeability, proline content and malondialdehyde content in sugarcane leaves;
6) Significantly improve the content of reducing sugars in sugarcane juice;
7) improve the sucrose content, sugar yield and gravity purity of sugarcane juice, as well as sucrose quality;
8) Promote the robust growth of sugarcane plants and increase the yield of sugarcane stalks, thereby establishing a solid foundation for high yield and high sugar content of sugarcane.
9) Solidwater® can be applied once a year, so it presents convenience, low costs and high benefits. Performance can be increased by
5%-16%.
